SM Entertainment’s Riize received a certificate of appreciation from the Los Angeles City Council for promoting the city with its music.

The council awarded the certificate to the boy band at Los Angeles City Hall on Tuesday.

The council said that the music video for Riize’s “Get a Guitar” (2023) had promoted the city to the world by featuring attractions such as the 6th Street Bridge and the Los Angeles Theatre.

Los Angeles City Councilmember John Lee, who is Korean American, made the original motion to award the certificate.

“This song is a love letter to the city of Los Angeles and showcases some of our greatest landmarks, both historic and contemporary,” said Lee. He added that the endeavor had “created a perfect partnership” between Riize and the city.

The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board also used “Get a Guitar” as background music in a promotional video for its tourism campaign “Now Playing.”

“Los Angeles holds a very special place in our hearts, so it’s a privilege for us to be selected by the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board for the ‘Now Playing’ ad campaign,” said Riize member Anton. “These moments have forged a lasting connection with this vibrant city and our testament to the creativity that defines it.”

The band held the “2024 Riize Fan Con ‘Riizing Day’ in Los Angeles” concert at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Monday. Officials from leading media and streaming platforms such as Billboard, Rolling Stone, Bloomberg, Spotify and Amazon Music, as well as choreographer Josh Price — who worked on the band’s song “Siren,” released on April 3 — were in attendance.

It will attend the Los Angeles Dodgers’ “Korean Heritage Night” celebration on Wednesday.

Riize previously performed at “KCON LA 2023″ before its official debut last September.
