H Mart accelerated its Texas growth, officially opening its Dallas Koreatown Harry Hines location on October 23, 2025. The company now operates seven stores across the state—including Austin, Plano, and Carrollton—further strengthening its position in the local grocery market. This opening marks another key step in the ongoing H Mart Texas expansion strategy.

Brian Kwon, president of H Mart, said, “We are pleased to introduce the taste of Asia to Dallas residents and will do our best to help households enjoy diverse Asian food culture at home.”

Located at 2534 Royal Lane in Dallas Koreatown (northwest Dallas), the Harry Hines store spans about 142,000 square feet, roughly the size of two soccer fields. The project moved forward under the 2023 Texas and Dallas City Council Koreatown revitalization initiative. That same year, Greg Abbott, governor of Texas, officially designated the Royal Lane area as “Dallas Koreatown,” and the Dallas City Council approved $3.5 million in grants and tax incentives to support the H Mart Dallas development.

Backed by this public support, the store opened in two years as a multi-use shopping destination that includes grocery, beauty, health, and lifestyle retailers, aiming to become a community one-stop hub.

The food hall features seven popular brands: Sogongdong Sundubu, Jaws Tteokbokki, Hong Kong Banjeom 0410, Don Chicken, It’s Katsu, Tang, and Oh K-Dog.

H Mart said the refined space reflects casual Asian culture and will offer diverse foods and differentiated service, appealing to Korean American customers and local consumers seeking new culinary experiences.

The opening also supports local employment through direct and indirect jobs with partner vendors. Eric L. Johnson, mayor of Dallas, said the store will provide top-tier Asian shopping and dining, create “over 100 jobs,” and bring “dozens of businesses,” contributing to regional economic growth.

For the grand opening, H Mart offered tiered gifts by purchase amount, a $1 designated item with purchases over $200, and insulated mug giveaways for new rewards card sign-ups and customer information updates—promotions that drew a strong response.

The H Mart Texas expansion continues next year. In Austin, the company will add a second location at North Loop Plaza (5222 Burnet Rd.), about 23,171 square feet, complementing the existing 11301 Lakeline Blvd. store. In Haltom City, H Mart will anchor a 50-acre mixed-use development near Loop 820 and North Beach Street. Near Houston, in Sugar Land, H Mart plans a 64,145-square-foot store at 3665 N. Highway 6 (former Floor & Decor site).

In California, H Mart currently operates 19 stores, including three in Los Angeles Koreatown, and plans new locations in Sacramento and Dublin next year.
