H Mart F&B Franchises Expand With Ten Thousand, L’AMI

H Mart, the largest Asian supermarket chain in the Americas, is expanding its franchise food and beverage operations through its franchise-focused subsidiary, BK Franchise.

H Mart said BK Franchise will step up recruitment of franchise partners centered on the global specialty coffee brand Ten Thousand and the cafe-style bakery brand L’AMI Bakery & Cafe.

As the Asian food and beverage market continues to grow, BK Franchise said it plans to broaden its business based on what it described as a proven operating system and brand competitiveness.

Founded in New York, Ten Thousand has built a strong following among younger consumers and coffee fans with its polished brand image and high-quality specialty coffee, the company said. It added that the brand has developed a franchise model designed to maximize operating efficiency and maintain a stable business structure. Drawing on what it described as successful experience in overseas markets including Australia, Taiwan, and Vietnam, the brand said it will treat this year as a full-scale year of expansion.

Ten Thousand signed a total of 20 franchise agreements last year, according to BK Franchise. Those locations are scheduled to open in major metro areas in California, New Jersey, Texas, and Illinois, beginning this year.

L’AMI Bakery & Cafe, which BK Franchise also operates, is a brand that reinterprets Korean-style bakery sensibilities and premium desserts in a modern way. It recently opened a new location at the Great Neck H Mart mall in New York, and it is scheduled to open at the H Mart Fort Lee store in New Jersey in the first half of this year. The company said it plans to formalize its franchise business through a flexible expansion strategy that combines in-shop locations with stand-alone stores.

A BK Franchise official said, “2026 will be an important turning point for the two brands to establish themselves as key brands in major domestic commercial districts,” adding, “We will build a stable and profitable partnership model that can grow together with franchisees, not just expand stores.”
