The H Mart Dublin store is set to open this year as H Mart, the largest Asian supermarket chain in the Americas, expands in Northern California. The new location in Dublin will serve the Tri-Valley area of the San Francisco Bay Area.
The store will combine grocery and household goods retail with a food hall offering Asian traditional and fusion cuisine. Six brands — Kyodong Jjamppong, Daeho, Chodang Sundubu, BBQ Chicken, OK Dog, and Tous Les Jours — will operate inside the food hall. Additional retail and service shops are also planned.

Brian Kwon, president of H Mart, said, “We will make it easy for residents to enjoy a variety of Asian foods in everyday life.”
Kashef Qadri, a Dublin city councilmember, said, “Beyond bringing in a grocery store, it will contribute to cultural exchange and job creation in the community.”
Expansion by Asian grocery chains continues across the Bay Area, including Osaka Marketplace, Mega Mart, Jaghalchi Seafood City, and T&T Supermarket, and competition is expected to intensify.
Founded in 1982 in Woodside, New York, H Mart now operates about 100 stores in 18 states, including 19 in California. The company employs about 6,000 workers and runs five distribution and processing facilities, supplying food and household goods aimed at multicultural consumers.
The Dublin location at 7884 Dublin Blvd. will renovate a former Orchard Supply Hardware space in the Dublin Retail Center, which also includes Ross, Michaels, Marshalls, and DSW.
The site will expand from an existing 27,237-square-foot building by adding an 8,552-square-foot food hall and a 3,187-square-foot outdoor seating and play area. The total complex will measure 37,252 square feet.
H Mart announced the project in May 2024 and confirmed the opening this year after completing structural upgrades, mechanical improvements, exterior renovations, and permitting procedures.
