H Mart Ramps Up Growth in Texas With Seventh Location Set to Open

Asian-American supermarket giant H Mart is accelerating its expansion in Texas, reinforcing its position as a key player in the state’s competitive grocery market. By late October, the company will open a 143,000-square-foot store at 2534 Royal Lane in Northwest Dallas Koreatown, marking its seventh location in Texas.

The new Dallas store sits on Harry Hines Boulevard, an area widely recognized as the heart of Koreatown in the city. Designed to serve a growing and diverse customer base, the supermarket will showcase H Mart’s signature selection of fresh produce, meats, seafood, and Asian specialty products. To further enhance the shopping experience, the location will feature a Mega Food Hall, offering prepared foods and dining options inspired by multicultural cuisines.

The expansion is expected to deliver meaningful economic impact for Dallas. H Mart plans to hire approximately 120 new employees directly, while its suppliers, contractors, and service partners are projected to push total job creation to between 250 and 300 positions. Recognizing the store’s potential contribution to local growth, the Dallas City Council approved $3.5 million in grants and tax incentives in 2023 to support the investment.

H Mart’s ambitions in Texas extend well beyond Dallas. In Austin, the company is preparing to launch a second location in 2026 at North Loop Plaza on Burnet Road, a 23,171-square-foot supermarket that will complement its existing Lakeline Boulevard store. In Haltom City, Tarrant County, a 200,000-square-foot flagship H Mart is set to open early next year as the anchor tenant of a 50-acre mixed-use development at Loop 820 and North Beach Street. Meanwhile, in the Houston area, H Mart is redeveloping a former Floor & Décor site in Sugar Land into a 64,145-square-foot supermarket, underscoring its commitment to serving the state’s largest metropolitan region.

Founded in 1982 in Woodside, New York, H Mart has grown into the largest Asian-American supermarket chain in the United States, operating more than 100 stores across 18 states and employing over 6,000 people. The company also manages five regional distribution centers and processing facilities. With its latest wave of expansion in Texas, H Mart is positioning itself not only as a destination for Asian groceries but also as a cultural and economic anchor in communities nationwide.
