KAFLA Opens Free Ballet Classes

Must read

The Korean American Federation of Los Angeles (KAF LA) will provide a free ballet lesson on July 11 at 7 p.m. at its headquarters.

The KAF LA launched its Fountain of Culture program in April. As a part of that program, Koa Dance Federation director Jin Choi will be invited to provide a lecture on history, theory, attire, music, interpretation, and use of toe shoes to anyone interested.

“I’ve prepared the lecture so that even those without any experience in ballet could approach it easily,” said Choi. “Participants will learn about ballet’s history and its language. We also plan on inviting L.A. Ballet Academy chief Jeong-gun Kim and Isabella Seo. The two will perform in front of the participants. We’re also going to introduce the performance we’ll hold on July 14 at Wilshire Ebell Theater.”

Since April, the KAF LA’s Fountain of Culture program has provided various cultural exchanges on a biweekly basis.
