You Don’t Need To Shower Everyday

shower-653671_960_720There must have been those mornings when you were late to work or class because of the obligatory shower that has become a routine. Some “clean” people even take showers two or three times a day.

However, a recent study shows that daily shower is not necessary. In fact, according to Dr. Elaine Larson, an infectious disease expert at Columbia University School of Nursing, you really only need to take a shower once or twice a week. She said: “bathing will remove odor if you are stinky, but in terms of protecting you from illness, washing your hands regularly is probably adequate.”

Surprisingly, taking too many showers may lead to more problems. Your skin can get dry and cracked skin could allow more germs to get in due to multiple showers that strip away healthy oils and good bacteria. So, unless you are stinky after a workout session at the gym, there is no need to stress about showering every morning.
