Sponsored by ‘Bank of Hope’ and hosted by ‘The Korea Daily’, the 44th Korea Daily Student Art & Video Contest has announced its winners. In the Art category, Soojin Lee (8th grade, Smith Middle School) won the Youth Division Grand Prize, and Ethan Hong (5th grade, The Overlake School) won the Children’s Division Grand Prize. In the Video category, Claire Chong (10th grade) received the Grand Prize.
This year, approximately 1,300 students from across the United States submitted their work, resulting in 174 winners in the Art category and 13 in the Video category.
The contest was judged by a panel of distinguished experts. Art judges included Professor Sunwook Park (California State University, Long Beach), ZiBEZI (artist behind the drawings featured in Parasite), and Eddie Dai (artist, Stanford & Yale). Video entries were reviewed by Benton Huang (photographer/videographer at KTLA) and Director Hyejin Park (USC School of Cinematic Arts).
The full list of winners is available on page 7 of The Korea Daily’s Economy section, on the official contest website (artcontest.koreadaily.com), and the education portal (edubridgeplus.com).
Starting today, an online exhibition of winning works is available on the contest website. Additionally, a separate metaverse exhibition — showcasing Grand Prize to Korea Daily CEO Award winners — is being hosted through ‘Camille World’, a service provided by the tech company ‘Ohhh’.
