LOS ANGELES – According to USC Annenberg Media, the USC tuition increase for the 2025-26 academic year will be 4.8%, raising tuition to $73,260, up from $69,904 this year.

Why Is USC Tuition Increasing?
In a statement, USC’s Board of Trustees cited rising costs in higher education as the reason for the USC tuition increase. They emphasized that tuition funds academic programs, student services, and campus operations.
USC also announced an expansion of financial aid, which will increase at the same rate as tuition. Additionally, the school will launch a Digital Course Materials program, offering online course materials at a flat fee, reducing textbook costs by 80%.
Concerns Over Affordability
The USC American Association for University Professors (AAUP) previously warned of significant budget cuts across departments.
Students have also raised concerns about affordability. In January, the White House paused federal loans and grants, leaving some struggling with rising costs.
Meanwhile, USC has implemented new security measures, including mandatory ID checks and added fencing. The university has not disclosed the costs of these changes.
Despite concerns, USC President Carol Folt stated that budget adjustments have not directly affected students.
