A Trader Joe’s recall is affecting its frozen Chicken Fried Rice after the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that manufacturer Ajinomoto Foods North America is voluntarily recalling the product due to the possible presence of glass fragments.

The company said it notified authorities after receiving reports from four consumers who said they found glass pieces in the product.
The recalled item is a 20-ounce frozen Chicken Fried Rice sold at Trader Joe’s stores. It includes vegetables, chicken, and eggs. The affected packages have dates ranging from September 9, 2026 to November 17, 2026.
In Canada, the product was distributed under the name “Ajinomoto Yakitori Chicken with Japanese-Style Fried Rice,” with dates from September 9, 2026 to November 12, 2026.
No injuries linked to consumption of the product have been reported so far.
Authorities advised consumers who bought the recalled product not to eat it and to either discard it or return it to the place of purchase.
