Target has launched a budget-friendly Thanksgiving dinner deal priced under $20, joining Walmart, Amazon, and Aldi in a growing holiday price war. The set is designed for a family of four, costing less than $5 per person, which the company calls its “most affordable set ever.”

According to Target’s announcement on November 5, most ingredients come from its private-label brand Good & Gather. The package includes a frozen turkey (up to 10 lb) priced at 79 cents per pound, the same as last year. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) projects average frozen turkey prices this year at $1.32 per pound, rising to about $2.05 in November, but Target has kept its price steady despite inflation.
The $20 meal set features a turkey (up to 10 lb), five pounds of potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing mix, turkey gravy, and French bread. From November 16 to 29, customers can add seasonal desserts such as apple or pumpkin pie and various side dishes for $4.99 each. The promotion is available through in-store pickup, same-day delivery, and free shipping on orders over $35.
Lisa Roath, Target’s Chief Merchandising Officer (CMO), said the retailer aims to help families celebrate affordably. “We prepared this promotion so families can enjoy a festive holiday while staying within budget,” she said, noting that Target is also offering side dishes, table décor, and floral arrangements to complete the celebration.
