Kim Jong-un urged a rapid expansion of North Korea’s naval power, calling for the navy to be ready to “thoroughly” punish enemy provocations during his visit to the 5,000-ton destroyer Choe Hyon.
North Korea has begun building its third Choe Hyon-class destroyer, aiming for completion by October 2026 as part of its push to expand maritime nuclear strike capabilities and strengthen military ties with Russia.
