Singer-songwriter Sam Kim’s father was shot and killed during a robbery in the United States, on Jan. 13.
According to local press reports, Kim’s father was killed by a robber who broke into the restaurant that he was running in Seattle. A funeral was held Tuesday.
“We will deeply appreciate the condolences you send for Sam Kim,” the singer’s agency Antenna Music said in a press release. “May he rest in peace.”
Kim is said to have sang his song “Don’t Worry” during the funeral. He originally wrote the song for his mother but changed the lyrics to honor his father.
Kim first appeared on television in 2013 after becoming the runner-up on channel SBS’s audition program “Kpop Star 3” and signed with Antenna Music afterward. He is known for calm and emotional R&B tracks, such as “Who are you” (2016), “It’s You” (2018) and “Make Up” (2018).
