Better Foods, a U.S. subsidiary of Shinsegae Food specializing in plant-based products, will introduce Better Meat, a line of alternative meat products including sliced ham, canned ham, meatballs and patties into the U.S. market.

Better Foods is participating in the Plant-Based World Expo (PBW) being held in New York City between Thursday and Friday and displaying their Better Meat line.

Better Foods, based in San Francisco, was established in August this year and focuses on developing beverages and baked goods along with its alternative meat products.

Among products to be shown at the PBW, Better Foods plans to introduce its canned ham product as an alternative meat item that can be stored at room temperature, unlike most other alternative meat products on sale in the Northern America region that require refrigeration.

“Better Foods has a diverse lineup of high-quality alternative meat products,” said Better Foods CEO Alex Song. “Starting with our participation at the PBW, we plan to accelerate our entry into the global alternative food market.”

Shinsegae Food announced a $6 million investment into Better Foods in July this year, with an additional $4 million to be injected into the subsidiary in the first half of 2030 through the issuance of new shares.
