Several free holiday events will take place throughout the month of December in and around LA Koreatown to bring artificial snow to LA’s snow-deprived communities.

Heather Hutt’s 10th District office will host the “Koreatown Winter Carnival” on December 16 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Koreatown’s Seoul International Park (3250 San Marino St. LA).

The event, part of the year-end Snow Day program, will feature more than 60 tons of snow, free food, arts and crafts, performances, games and more. The event is open to all residents.

District 10 Councilmember Heather Hutt’s office, which is organizing the event, said it will hold identical events at major parks in the district from December 8 to 23. For more information, visit the councilmember’s district website at councildistrict10.lacity.gov/.

In addition, the The Salvation Army Los Angeles Korean Corps will host a “Toy Drive” on December 20 to distribute free toys and food to low-income families with children. To participate, participants need to apply in advance (213-480-0714), which will be closed in a few days, and the church urges to hurry.

Earlier in the days, the Koreatown Youth + Community Center will host a ” Holiday Carnival” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 9 at Hobart Boulevard Elementary School (980 S. Hobart Blvd., LA). There will be games, arts and crafts, performances, and Christmas gifts for children under 10. Again, it’s free and open to the public. Admission to the event is through a registration booth on Serrano Avenue.
