Samsung Electronics’ largest labor union, the National Samsung Electronics Union (NSEU), will stage a full-scale strike with the stated principle of “No Work, No Pay.”
Local media outlets reported Monday that the strike will continue until the union’s demand over salary hikes is met, but a posting at the NSEU’s website stated that the action will run from July 8 through July 10.
The unionized workers met Jun Young-hyun, the head of Samsung’s chip business, on Monday, but failed to reach an agreement.
The union members went on strike in May, but no major production disruption was reported at the time.
