Actress Kim Gyuri has issued a strong response to false rumors claiming that the restaurant owned by DJ DOC’s Lee Ha-neul and Jung Jaeyong was forced to close for two months after she sang there — and said she will take legal action.
Kim Gyuri said on February 24 that she was “shocked” after seeing online articles about the alleged restaurant shutdown. She explained, “I asked around after seeing the report. First, I held a gathering on February 1 that I streamed on my YouTube channel ‘김규리tv몹시.’ Some cyber attackers apparently targeted it and, armed with instructions, filed complaints with the district office,” suggesting that malicious online actors triggered the false story.
She added, “I even contacted Mr. Lee Ha-neul after seeing the article. In conclusion, the restaurant is operating normally. Phew,” expressing her confusion over the situation.
Kim Gyuri also addressed critics, saying, “They’re trying to create problems where there isn’t any… Is that what’s going on?” and promised, “I’ll be more careful next time,” while apologizing to the restaurant owners for any misunderstanding caused by her impromptu song performance.
She continued, “The comment-manipulating groups engaging in personal attacks and business disruption will be sued. I’ll hand over the data — including comments from users on my channel — to restaurant management,” showing a determination to pursue legal action against people spreading the rumors online.
The incident stemmed from Kim Gyuri’s recent fan meeting at the restaurant owned by Lee Ha-neul and Jung Jaeyong, where she also sang using the venue’s audio equipment. Some netizens then claimed that the eatery had violated food-safety laws and reported it to local authorities. However, the rumor that the restaurant had been slapped with a two-month business suspension has been debunked.
