A 20-member delegation, consisting of eight members of the House Ways and Means Committee, which includes U.S. Rep. Michelle Steele (CA-45), visited South Korea on July 30.

Rep. Steele, currently running for re-election, was accompanied by her spouse and committee staff on the trip, which featured memorable visits to downtown Seoul and the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).

The delegation also included notable representatives such as Congressman Jason Smith (R-Missouri), Greg Murphy (R-North Carolina), Nicole Malliotakis (R-New York), Nathaniel Moran (R-Texas), Amata Coleman Radewagen (R-American Samoa), Ritchie Torres (D-New York), and Morgan McGarvey (D-Kentucky).

This visit to South Korea, strategically scheduled during the congressional recess, aimed to foster stronger connections between members of Congress and the diverse Asian cultures, thereby enriching their understanding and knowledge.

Following their time in South Korea, the House Committee on Ways and Means delegation is set to depart on August 1 for further visits to Cambodia, Thailand, and Japan before returning to the United States.
