Daniel Jongyon Park, the man accused of supplying explosives for the Palm Springs bombing, was found dead at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday, according to KTLA.

Park, 32, was discovered unresponsive in his cell at around 7:30 a.m. Jail staff attempted life-saving measures and transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death was not disclosed.
No staff or inmates were harmed, and there was no threat to the public, the Bureau of Prisons said. The FBI and U.S. Marshals Service were notified of the death.
Park had been in pre-trial detention since June 13. He was accused of working with Guy Edward Bartkus, the suicide bomber who detonated an explosive device outside a fertility clinic in Palm Springs on May 17, 2025.
Bartkus died in the attack, which injured several people and destroyed the clinic’s building. Park allegedly supplied 270 pounds of ammonium nitrate used in the device.
