Daniel Jongyon Park, the man charged with helping execute the deadly bombing of a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, died by suicide on Tuesday, June 24 inside the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Los Angeles, according to the LA Times.

Park, 32, reportedly climbed onto a surface and jumped from a high balcony around 7:30 a.m. Jail staff and paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet released an official cause of death. TMZ first reported the suicide, which was later confirmed by law enforcement sources speaking to the Los Angeles Times.
Park had been in federal custody since mid-June, following his extradition from Poland and arrest at John F. Kennedy International Airport in connection to the May 17, 2025, bombing that killed Guy Edward Bartkus, injured four people, and destroyed the American Reproductive Centers building in Palm Springs.
Federal prosecutors allege Park supplied 270 pounds of ammonium nitrate and shared similar antinatalist beliefs with Bartkus, who detonated the bomb. According to court documents, Park also attempted self-harm during his arrest in Poland.
Authorities said no staff or other inmates were harmed in Tuesday’s incident. The FBI and U.S. Marshals Service have been notified, and the investigation into Park’s death and the broader terrorism case is ongoing.
