Apple TV+’s “Pachinko” (2022-) breakout star Kim Min-ha has been nominated for this year’s Gotham Awards, the first major U.S. awards ceremony of the fall season.
Kim made it on the list of nominees for Outstanding Performance in a New Series, which was announced live on Tuesday, U.S. time.
The actor will be competing with nine other nominees, including Bilal Baig from “Sort Of” (2021-), Britt Lower from “Severance” (2022-) and Matilda Lawer from “Station Eleven” (2021).
“Pachinko,” Apple TV+’s second Korean-language series, was also nominated for the Breakthrough Series – Long Format (over 40 minutes).
The 2022 Gotham Awards Ceremony will be held live on Nov. 28.
“Pachinko” premiered on March 25 and is based on a novel of the same title by Korean-American author Min Jin Lee. It follows four generations of ethnic Koreans in Japan, known as Zainichi Koreans. The series has been confirmed for a second season.
Kim debuted in 2016 and is best known for playing the younger days of lead character Sunja in “Pachinko.”
