Gardena, CA — Open Healthcare (CEO Yongseok Kim), a new platform focused on personalized healthcare solutions, officially opened its large-scale clinical trial center in Gardena on September 25, drawing more than 200 community leaders and guests to celebrate what organizers called a “medical milestone” for the Korean American community and beyond.
The Gardena-based center, located at 1487 W. 178th Street, will serve as a hub for clinical testing and self-diagnostic services. Open Healthcare is a subsidiary of Korea’s Seegene Medical Foundation, aiming to expand access to affordable and comprehensive health services through a mix of lab-based and at-home testing options.
Commitment to the Community
“This opening is the result of two years of dedication by more than 60 staff members,” said CEO Yongseok Kim in his remarks. “We are committed to enhancing healthcare services not only for the Korean American community but for the broader Southern California region.”
Kim, well known in the Korean American medical community, previously served as CEO of CHA Health Systems.
Min-Cheol Lee, CEO of Open Healthcare Korea, added, “We are deeply grateful for the support of Southern California leaders and communities. Today’s launch represents a major achievement for the entire Korean healthcare sector.”
Leaders and Guests Celebrate
The grand opening drew a wide range of dignitaries, including Gardena Mayor Tasha Cerda, Consul General Youngwan Kim of Los Angeles, Seegene Medical Foundation Chairman Jong-Ki Chun, and LA City Commissioner Steve Kang. Guests toured the three-story facility equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and medical devices, expressing admiration for its advanced technology.
Affordable At-Home Test Kits
Among its services, Open Healthcare is introducing the AllrangeKit, a low-cost self-testing product already popular in Korea. The kit allows individuals to collect their own urine sample and send it to the lab, where testing can detect 13 different diseases. Company officials say the product combines affordability with proven reliability.
Expanding Regional Access
In addition to its Gardena headquarters, Open Healthcare has set up blood collection facilities in Los Angeles Koreatown (VIP Plaza, 3030 W. Olympic Blvd.), Fountain Valley (11100 Warner Ave., Suite 118), and Arcadia (1015 N. 1st Ave., Suite B) to make services more accessible across Southern California.
