Details of the Ontario I-10 Multi-Vehicle Crash

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) said the incident began when a vehicle traveling on the freeway struck a car that had stopped on the right shoulder due to mechanical problems.

Shortly afterward, a westbound big rig was unable to stop in time and plowed into multiple vehicles, triggering a chain-reaction crash involving several cars.

Authorities said seven vehicles in total were involved in the collision.

Victims Pronounced Dead at the Scene

Investigators confirmed that Kim was driving one of the vehicles involved, while Soto was a passenger in another car.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The force of the crash caused catastrophic damage, with at least one vehicle reportedly split in half due to the impact.

Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after the collision, while additional victims from other vehicles were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities have not released details about the conditions of the injured individuals.
