Check Your Grill: 10.2 Million Nexgrill Brushes Recalled After Serious Injuries
Your next backyard BBQ could have a hidden, metallic “crunch” you didn’t bargain for. On March 26, 2026, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a massive safety alert regarding a Nexgrill Brush Recall affecting over 10.2 million metal wire grill brushes. The reason? Those stiff metal bristles are breaking off, sticking to food, and landing unsuspecting diners in the emergency room.
The Danger in the Bristles: Why This Matters
The core issue of the Nexgrill Brush Recall is “hidden danger.” According to reports, the metal wires can detach during cleaning, embed themselves into the grill grates, and subsequently transfer to your steak or burgers. If swallowed, these sharp wires can cause devastating internal injuries.
So far, Nexgrill has received at least 68 reports of bristles detaching, with 5 cases requiring medical intervention after consumers accidentally ingested the metal fragments. If you’ve been using a Nexgrill-branded brush purchased from Home Depot between 2015 and 2026, it’s time to put down the paddle.
Is Your Brush on the List? (Model Numbers)
The recall affects brushes measuring 18 to 21 inches in length, sold both in-store and online at Home Depot for approximately $5 to $15. Check the handle or packaging for the Nexgrill logo and the following model numbers:
