Metro Purple Line Extension Will Be Completed by 2035

One of the significant projects of LA Metro, Purple Line’s extension to connect LA downtown, Beverly Hills and Culver City, have met a supporter.

Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation has decided to grant nearly $1.5 billion for the second stage of the Purple line extension process. This includes $747 million for the local tax revenue.

The construction is a 9-mile extension from Koreatown to West LA, including 7 new stations to be built. The construction of Koreatown – Miracle Mile route is expected to be finished by 2023, Beverly Hills – Century City by 2026, and Westwood – West LA by 2035.

According to LA MTA, it will take only 25 minutes from downtown to Westwood via the New Purple Line.
