Legendary chef Alain Ducasse to open ‘hospitality service beyond restaurant’ in Korea next year

World-renowned chef, Alain Ducasse is reportedly launching a restaurant in Korea next year. Ducasse is a master of French cuisine who has received a total of 21 Michelin stars in his culinary career.

At the 2024 Formula One (F1) Las Vegas Grand Prix on November 22, Ducasse revealed in an interview with the Korea Daily that he is preparing to launch his business in South Korea.

He said, “We are preparing a hospitality service that goes beyond just a restaurant.” He added, “The exact date has not been decided yet, but we will be able to meet in Korea as early as next year.”

Ducasse Paris Group, the hospitality company founded by Ducasse, currently operates in nine countries with 33 restaurants, as well as bakeries, cafes, chocolate specialty stores, and hotels. Ducasse did not specify the exact date and location of the plan, but the “service beyond the restaurant” he mentioned is likely to include not only restaurants but also bakeries, cafes, and hotels.

Among the 33 restaurants that Ducasse runs, eight are Michelin-starred restaurants, including Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester (London, UK) and Le Louis XV (Monte Carlo, Monaco). He is also working to train future generations through his cookbooks and cooking school, Ecole Ducasse.
