Son joins as a Designated Player through 2027, with options through 2029. He will be eligible to play after securing his P-1 visa and international transfer certificate.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest Asian players in football history, Son scored 173 goals in 10 seasons with Tottenham and became the first Asian to win the Premier League Golden Boot. He also led the club to a Europa League title in 2025 and served as team captain.

“I’ve come to LA to win trophies,” Son said. “This city has a winning culture, and I want to be part of that.”

Son, who has represented South Korea in three World Cups, now joins an LAFC roster that has featured international stars like Gareth Bale, Olivier Giroud, and Carlos Vela.
