LA Koreatown Seniors Return to Sing Anthem at LA Kings Game

The Harmonica Ensemble of the LA Koreatown Senior & Community Center (hereafter the Senior Center) will once again take the stage at an NHL Los Angeles Kings game next year, following their appearance this year.

The ensemble is scheduled to perform the U.S. national anthem on January 20 at Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles, the home venue of the LA Kings. The Kings will face the New York Rangers that evening, at 7:00 PM.

The Senior Center’s Harmonica Ensemble previously made its debut performance at Crypto.com Arena on March 23, marking its first-ever national anthem performance at an NHL game. The performance filled the arena, and footage of fans singing along to the anthem went viral on social media.

The LA Kings will also once again host “K-Town Night,” an event celebrating Korean culture and spotlighting LA Koreatown. This year’s event featured performances by the Senior Center’s Harmonica Ensemble and Samulnori group, a DJ set by a Korean DJ, and the sale of limited-edition merchandise featuring the word “Kings” written in Korean. Details of next year’s program have not yet been announced.
