A New Koreatown Apartment Project Proposed With 24 Units In 6-story

A new Koreatown apartment project has been filed with the Los Angeles Department of City Planning to replace four homes at 112 N. Mariposa Avenue with a six-story apartment building featuring 24 units from studios to three-bedrooms and a ground-floor parking area with 17 spaces.

The project applicant is Kazem Kalantary of Diamond Property. Architectural plans list bBA Studio as the designer, with a modern, podium-style exterior.

According to the filing, the development will use Transit Oriented Communities (TOC) incentives to relax certain zoning limits. In exchange, three units will be designated as affordable housing for low-income tenants.

A separate, larger residential project with 88 units at 1st Street and Normandie Avenue in Koreatown received city approval in 2021.
