A new affordable housing development is planned for 2900 Francis Avenue, near 8th Street and Westmoreland Avenue in Los Angeles’ Koreatown, according to a June 2 report by Urbanize LA.
52 of the 53 units will be designated as affordable housing, which enables the use of density bonus incentives allowing for a larger building than typically permitted by zoning regulations. The remaining unit will be offered at market rate for an on-site building manager.
Designed by Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects (LOHA), the building will feature a contemporary design, with large amenity decks located on the second floor and rooftop.
A separate affordable housing project is also in development nearby at 2859 Francis Avenue, signaling a broader push to address the housing shortage in Koreatown.
