Two more Korean American women have been appointed as judges in California.

According to the California state government website on August 7, Judge Corey Lee of the San Bernardino County Superior Court has been named to the Division Two of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District. Lee has served as a Superior Court judge since 2015. Her previous positions include Deputy Chief U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California from 2012 to 2015, Assistant U.S. Attorney in the same district from 2008 to 2012, Deputy District Attorney at the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office from 2007 to 2008, and a role with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office from 2004 to 2007.
Amanda Park, commissioner of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, has also been appointed as a judge on the same court. Park has worked as an attorney with the Los Angeles County Department of Child Support Services for 27 years since 1997 and has served as a commissioner since 2024.
The appointments highlight the growing presence of Korean American women judges in California’s judiciary.
