Korean-American woman in her 30s commits suicide in Koreatown home

A Korean-American woman in her 30s has committed suicide.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiners (LACME) reported that a woman surnamed Moon, 37, was discovered hanged at her residence near 3100 Wilshire Boulevard on March 29.

“The death was reported via a 911 call at approximately 9:25 a.m.,” stated the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Public Information Office regarding the incident. “Responding officers confirmed Moon’s death upon arrival.”

Further details from the police report were not disclosed.

Moon’s case is among three suicides (including Korean-Americans) recorded by the coroner’s office last month, highlighting a concerning trend as Koreans exhibit the highest suicide rate among Asian groups.
