Film “Jeong-sun” (2021) by director Jeong Ji-hye won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2022 Rome Film Festival and lead actor Kim Kum-soon took home Best Actress.
The ceremony took place at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome on Saturday.
“Jeong-sun” was the only Korean film among the 16 movies invited to compete at this year’s festival.
It tells the story of how a single middle-aged woman named Jeong-sun, who had an intimate video of her filmed by a boyfriend and leaked, fights to reclaim her identity.
This year was the 17th edition of the Rome Film Festival, which started in 2006 and is one of Italy’s most representative film festivals along with the Venice International Film Festival.
