You don’t have to lift a finger—no applications, no messy paperwork, just pure credit applied straight to your account.

Check Your April Gas Bill: Who Gets What?

For most Californians, the first wave of relief arrives through natural gas providers this April. If you are a customer of SoCalGas, PG&E, or SDG&E, keep a sharp eye on your statement. Most households will see a credit ranging from $30 to $40 labeled clearly as “California Climate Credit.”

  • SoCalGas & PG&E: Look for that $36 (approx.) deduction right now.

  • SDG&E Customers: You might see even higher variations depending on your specific plan.

New for 2026: The Summer Electricity Bonus

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has introduced a strategic twist this year. Unlike previous years where electric credits arrived in the spring, the California Climate Credit 2026 for electricity is being saved for the “Big Heat.”

To help offset the massive AC bills during the California summer, PG&E and Southern California Edison (SCE) customers will receive their electric credits in August and September.

  • SCE & PG&E: Expect around $36 in late summer.

  • SDG&E: Residents are hitting the jackpot with a $49.36 credit during the same period.

  • Pacific Power: Some lucky residents might even see up to $111.83 split across two payments!

What If the Credit is Missing?

Scanning your bill and seeing nothing but charges? Don’t panic, but do take action. First, look for the specific line items: “California Climate Credit” or “CA Climate Credit.” If it’s missing, your first call should be to your utility provider.

For the Korean-American community, SoCalGas offers a dedicated Korean-language service at 1-800-427-0471, making it easier than ever to claim what’s yours. If the provider can’t resolve the issue, the CPUC is your next stop for additional support.

Whether it covers a few gallons of gas or a celebratory dinner, make sure you don’t miss out on your share of the state’s climate initiative!
