H Mart Orlando opening: First Florida store launches Sept. 25

H Mart, the largest Asian supermarket chain in the United States, will open its first Florida location in Orlando on September 25. The store marks the company’s long-awaited entry into the state, arriving four years after H Mart first announced plans to expand into the region in 2021.

The new store will be located at 7501 W. Colonial Drive in Westland Terrace Plaza, occupying the former site of a Target. At more than 100,000 square feet, equivalent to about 1.3 soccer fields, the Orlando location will stand among the largest H Mart stores nationwide.

At the heart of the Orlando store will be its K-Food hall, designed as both a dining destination and cultural showcase. Rather than simply offering groceries, the food court introduces customers to a wide range of Korean and Asian flavors under one roof.

Among the featured restaurants is MyungGa, known for its authentic Korean home-style dishes. Jaws Tteokbokki will bring the taste of Seoul’s bustling street food scene, while Yucheon offers refreshing bowls of Korean cold noodles. For those seeking trendy snacks, OK Dog will serve hand-crafted Korean-style hot dogs, and Chidon will present crispy Japanese-inspired pork cutlets.

H Mart said the food hall is expected to become a signature attraction for the Orlando location, appealing to families, young professionals, and tourists looking to explore Asian cuisine in a modern setting.

Opening day will feature special giveaways and discounts. Customers who spend $30, $50, $100, or $150 will receive tiered gifts. Shoppers spending $200 or more can purchase a 15-pound bag of Haruharu rice for $1.

In addition, new members who sign up for the H Mart Smart Rewards Card, as well as existing customers who update their email information, will receive a complimentary H Mart thermal mug while supplies last. Updates about the Orlando store are also available through the H Mart KakaoTalk channel (ID: HMart FL).

Brian Kwon, president of H Mart, said he was excited about the company’s entry into Florida.

“We are thrilled to bring the authentic taste of Asia to Orlando,” Kwon said. “Our goal is to introduce diverse Asian food culture and make it easy for families to enjoy at home. ”The Orlando store highlights H Mart’s aggressive growth strategy. The company recently opened its Westminster, California location and plans new stores in Dublin, California; Dallas and Austin, Texas; and Sugar Land, Texas, where a 65,000-square-foot store will launch in 2026.

Florida becomes the third new state for H Mart within the past year, following expansions into Nevada and Utah.

Founded in 1982 in Woodside, Queens, New York, H Mart now operates more than 100 stores across 18 states. The company employs over 6,000 staff and manages five regional logistics centers and food processing facilities, making it the largest international supermarket chain in the country.
