Grace Yoo is calling on the Korean-American community for support and participation in the upcoming general election for Los Angeles City Council District 10 in November.
At a press conference on August 5 at her campaign office on Olympic Boulevard in Koreatown, Yoo gave an update on her campaign and outlined her future plans.
“In the last fundraising report, our campaign reported twice as much fundraising as the opponent’s,” Yoo said, emphasizing that “this is still an uphill battle, and we will not be able to win without the strong support of the Korean-American community.”

Since the March primary, Yoo’s campaign has reported $161,000 in total fundraising through June 30, compared to $82,500 for her opponent, Heather Hutt, according to the campaign finance report from the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission.
Yoo’s campaign has a final fundraising goal of $500,000 for the general election, with up to $200,000 in matching funds from the city.
The campaign is looking for volunteers to work weekdays from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and is seeking people of all ages and abilities to help in any capacity. The campaign is primarily in need of volunteers to do outreach to voters in the district, with about 50 people currently working and at least 150 more needed over the next three months.
On August 8, at noon, Yoo’s campaign will hold a fundraiser at Concerto Bakery in Koreatown, hosted by the Korean American Leaders Committee.
