G-Dragon tested negative in a simplified drug test and agreed to take a full test, the Big Bang member told the local press as he left the police station on Monday afternoon after four hours of questioning at the Incheon Nonhyun Police Station.
“I have requested [the police give me] a proper test,” he said. “I would like the investigative forces to announce the results of the test quickly and accurately.”
G-Dragon told reporters that he did not have to hand over his mobile phone to the police during the questioning and added that he will appear for questioning again whenever the police summon him.
G-Dragon also said that he does not think the police have been carrying out an “unreasonable investigation” against him, as some of his fans have argued, and that he knows that they are just “doing their job.”
The news comes four hours after the K-pop star, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, entered the police station at 1:30 p.m. for questioning by the police over his alleged use of illegal drugs. The police had not summoned him, but he expressed through his attorney on Oct. 30 that he would voluntarily go in for questioning.
“I did not get involved in any kind of illegal drug use, and I am here today to reveal the truth,” G-Dragon had told reporters before he began the questioning.
When asked if he recently dyed or bleached his hair, G-Dragon said no and added that he would like to go inside “to be questioned rather than saying too much here.”
And when asked whether he’s been to the membership-only adult entertainment establishment in Gangnam District, southern Seoul, G-Dragon said, “Let’s wait and see.”
The manager of the establishment in question is also being investigated by the police for drug-related allegations. Actor Lee Sun-kyun was summoned for the second time on Saturday after the police had discovered Lee’s involvement in the drugs that were being circulated at this establishment. Lee also tested negative in the simplified drug test.
G-Dragon, who debuted as a member of the boy band Big Bang in 2006, was previously questioned for marijuana use in 2011 by the Korean prosecutors’ office, but his indictment was suspended at the time after he confessed to having inhaled the substances unintentionally.
