A festival for AAPI youth will take place at the Edison Theatre in Long Beach from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 31(Saturday). Themed “AAPI Joy: Anchor of Hope and Blueprint for Change,” the event will feature artistic works that express the roots, identity, and hope of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) youth.
The showcase will include not only student-created exhibits but also live performances, community engagement opportunities, and an awards ceremony, offering attendees a rich and immersive experience.

Visitors can view a student art exhibit that blends cultural storytelling with creative expression. Each piece captures the perspectives and lived experiences of AAPI youth, bringing their identity and stories to life.
Community partners from the AAPI community will also participate, hosting booths to introduce their work and explore opportunities for collaboration. The event is intended to foster a sense of solidarity across organizations and attendees.
A live performance segment will feature AAPI youth presenting their own works through spoken word, poetry, music, and visual art. These performances aim to amplify their voices and provide powerful, emotional experiences for the audience.
A highlight of the evening will be the Noisemaker Award ceremony. This year’s award will be presented to The Linda Lindas, a band known for their impactful music and strong social messaging. The group has been a source of inspiration to AAPI youth and communities, and the award will honor their ongoing contributions.
The showcase celebrates AAPI youth who connect with the world through art, offering a meaningful space to listen to and uplift their voices. It’s also a chance to recognize the next generation of artists, leaders, and changemakers.
Light refreshments will be served, and guests are welcome to explore the exhibits and connect with community groups throughout the evening. Reservations for the event can be made through the link below.
