Recent sudy has found that eating fruits and vegetables rich in flavonoid, such as apples or berries, can prevent weight gain.
Flavonoid is a natural compound abundant in fruits and vegetables such as apples, pears, onion, celery and berries and it can potentially contribute in losing weight. It’s been known that flavonoid functions as antioxidant, preventing cell damages. In addition to this, study has found that flavonoid prevents weight gain by decreasing the energy from sugar.
Researchers of the study from University of West Anglia said that an increased consumption of most flavonoids were associated with weight maintenance and even a modest weight lossas results were found to be consistent across men and women and different ages.
According to the research, people who consumed 80 grams of blueberries for four years have lost an average of 2.5 lbs.
