A 22-year-old Canadian actor who spent $220,000 to undergo 12 plastic surgery procedures to look like BTS member Jimin died after suffering complications, Daily Mail reported on April 24.

Saint Von Colucci, 22, died at a hospital in South Korea on the morning of April 23 due to complications from a jaw implant surgery that he underwent last November.

“He underwent surgery to remove his jaw implants on April 22 and developed complications from an infection,” his publicist, Eric Blake, told the Daily Mail, adding that “attempts were made to extubate him, but he died a few hours later.”

“It’s very tragic and very unfortunate,” said Blake, who has been working with Colucci since March of last year, adding that he has had a total of 12 plastic surgeries in the past year, including jaw surgery, implants, face lift, a nose job, eye lift, eyebrow lift, lip reduction and some other minor surgeries.

“He knew how risky the jaw implant surgery was, but he still wanted to get it,” said Blake. “He was very insecure about his looks. He had a very square jawline and chin and he didn’t like the shape of it because he thought it was too wide and wanted a V-shape, the shape many Asians have.”

Colucci spent six months filming the eight-episode Korean drama “Pretty Lies” starting last June, in which he played one of the main characters, the outlet said. The show is set to premiere in October on major U.S. streaming platforms.

“He was very very excited and worked really hard. He came to South Korea in 2019 to try to get into the music industry,” said Blake, explaining that a company took him under a seven-year contract and paid for his housing, transportation and living expenses.

“He had dark blonde hair, blue eyes, was 6 feet tall and 182 pounds, but he was very unsatisfied with his face. He felt he was being discriminated against his Western looks, and it was very hard for him to get a job in South Korea.”
