The Mystery Unveiled: Why BTS Jin is Missing from ‘ARIRANG’ Album Credits

The wait is finally over, but fans noticed something unexpected in the credits of the BTS Jin Arirang Album. While the world celebrates BTS’s grand comeback with their 5th regular album ARIRANG, a small detail in the production credits sparked curiosity: Why wasn’t Jin’s name listed alongside the other members as a producer?

During a recent Weverse Live celebrating the release, the members sat down to spill the tea on the behind-the-scenes journey of making this masterpiece. It turns out, the reason is both professional and incredibly touching.

A Clash of Schedules: Solo Tours vs. Song Camps

While RM, Suga, and the rest of the members were deep in the creative trenches of a “song camp” in the United States, Jin was busy conquering the world on his solo tour. Suga explained that although the members took the lead as producers for this album, the timing just didn’t align for the eldest member.

“Jin hyung joined us in the U.S. just a week before the sessions ended because of his tour,” Jin shared during the live broadcast. “By then, they had already created over 100 songs! I actually heard more than half of the album for the first time after returning to Korea.”

V added that while there was a small window for Jin to participate, his physical condition was a priority. “He had a bit of a tough time because the tour was so demanding,” V noted, showing the group’s deep care for their “Matnae” (eldest-youngest).

The Silent Hero: Keeping the BTS Momentum

Despite not being on the production credits for the BTS Jin Arirang Album, the members couldn’t stop praising Jin’s pivotal role over the past year. Since he was the first to complete his military service, Jin became the “anchor” of the group, keeping the BTS brand thriving through solo projects like Run Jin and variety show appearances.

“I’ve never met anyone who dislikes Jin hyung,” RM said emotionally. “He protected the team’s flow while we were away. I was so moved seeing his solo concert; he really worked hard. Thank you.”

Jin, ever the humble king, responded with a smile, saying he’s just happy that “so many cool songs came out.” While he might be missing from the fine print of the production list, his presence is felt in every note of their new title track, “SWIM,” which is currently dominating global charts.
