Blackpink to drop music video for song for band’s video game

Blackpink will drop the music video for “The Girls” on Wednesday.

“The Girls” is a song for the soundtrack of Blackpink’s new mobile game, Blackpink The Game, released in May.

Members Rosé and Jennie have participated in the song production, with Ryan Tedder and Danny Chung, producers of Blackpink’s hit tracks, according to the agency.

The music video will feature a Blackpink stage recreated with the 3D avatar characters used in the game.

The physical packages for the song will be released on Friday in four different packaging and are available for preorder on Weverse, YG Select Shop and more.

There will also be events in-game to celebrate the launch of the music video.

Blackpink is currently on its world tour, “Born Pink.” Kicked off with performances in Seoul in October 2022, the girl group visited 23 countries worldwide. The girl group is set to perform its encore tours in Los Angeles on Saturday, followed by a grand finale in Seoul on Sept. 16 and 17.
