Baekjeong, a well-known Korean American barbecue chain, will reopen in Koreatown on May 7 at its new location at 3429 W. 8th St., the former site of Mansu. The reopening comes 16 months after the closure of its Chapman Plaza branch in January 2024.

Food industry outlet Eater LA reported that the new restaurant will offer its signature meats along with an expanded lineup, including yukhoe (seasoned raw beef), steamed egg, kimchi pancake, galbi, spicy pork bulgogi, and beef intestines. New lunch specials will feature sirloin steak with gochujang butter, pork cutlet with garlic fried rice, and kimchi pork belly stir-fry noodles.
A new dry-aging program, led by Chef Samuel Kim, is also being introduced. Guests will be able to view the aging process through a glass-enclosed room, with the dry-aged meats expected to debut as premium menu items.
Baekjeong was founded in South Korea in the early 2000s as a meat grilling specialist and opened its first U.S. location in Koreatown in 2012 under Kijung Hospitality Group. It has since expanded to San Jose, Torrance, New York, Washington, and other major U.S. cities.
