Yeol Jang is a veteran journalist with a B.A. in East Asian Studies from UCLA. Since joining Koreadaily in 2007, he has covered social affairs, religion, legal issues, and investigative reporting. His reporting includes coverage of religious conflicts in Palestine and Israel, refugee camps in Hatay, Turkiye, Germany’s divided past, and forgotten Asian immigrant graves in Hawaii and Portland, among many others. Jang’s dedication has earned him multiple accolades, including the Outstanding Reporting Award at the New America Media Ethnic Media Awards (2012) and the INMA Elevate Scholarship (2021).
