In-N-Out Burger held a one-day pop-up at Centre Cheongdam in Gangnam District, southern Seoul, on Wednesday. About 500 burgers — double double, animal style and protein style — were available on a first-come-first-served basis with one burger limited per customer. The food was sold out immediately after the pop-up opened as the first customer arrived at the storefront at 1 a.m. with a folding chair. Despite the burger brand’s local popularity, Luis Hernadez, In-N-Out Burger’s manager of Special Foreign Events present at the pop-up said that it currently does not have plans to expand in Korea. “There is no time frame for opening stores in Korea at the moment, but we like to do these global marketing tours and we are happy to be out here in Seoul again.” In-N-Out Burger held similar pop-ups in Seoul in 2012 and 2019.
