Legroom Upgrade! Air Premia Seat Pitch Just Got Roomier

If you’ve ever felt like a sardine in a tin can during a long-haul flight, Air Premia has some refreshing news for you. The hybrid carrier is doubling down on passenger comfort by significantly increasing the Air Premia seat pitch across its fleet. In a bold move that prioritizes quality over quantity, the airline is actually removing seats to give you more breathing—and stretching—room.

Fewer Seats, More Comfort: The 33-Inch Standard

On March 16, Air Premia announced that it has successfully reconfigured its HL8701 aircraft, expanding the economy class seat pitch from a standard 31 inches to a much more generous 33 inches. To make this extra legroom a reality, the airline slashed 18 seats from the cabin, reducing the total capacity from 344 to 326 seats.

This isn’t a one-off experiment. Air Premia has been on a “comfort mission” since 2024, when it previously reduced seat counts on two other aircraft to provide that coveted extra space. The airline currently operates nine aircraft with varying configurations, but the goal is clear: by the end of this year, every single Air Premia flight will offer an economy Air Premia seat pitch of at least 33 inches.

A Fresh Look from the Ground Up

It’s not just your legs getting an upgrade; your eyes (and the planet) are getting a treat too. Along with the seat adjustments, Air Premia has swapped out its cabin carpets for a sleek, newly designed version.

  • Brand Identity: The new carpets feature a digital print design that perfectly mirrors Air Premia’s modern brand aesthetic.

  • Eco-Friendly Flying: Made from lighter materials, these carpets help reduce the overall weight of the aircraft.

  • Fuel Efficiency: Lighter planes mean less fuel consumption, proving that a more comfortable flight can also be a greener one.

The Hybrid Advantage

As a “Hybrid Service Carrier” (HSC), Air Premia continues to bridge the gap between low-cost carriers and full-service giants. By standardizing the Air Premia seat pitch at 33 inches—exceeding the industry average for many economy cabins—they are making a strong case for why travelers shouldn’t have to sacrifice their comfort for a reasonable fare.

Whether you’re flying for business or a long-awaited vacation, the era of bumping knees with the seat in front of you is officially coming to an end at Air Premia.
