Girl group aespa will perform at the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, a first for any K-pop group, in August, the group’s agency SM Entertainment announced Wednesday.

The Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival will be held on Aug. 11 to 13 in San Francisco. The girl group will perform on one day at the festival.

This year’s festival features rapper Kendrick Lamar, electronic duo Odesza, singer-songwriter Lana Del Ray, bands Foo Fighters, The 1975 and more.

The festival was first held in 2008 in San Francisco with the band Radiohead headlining the show. Since then, renowned artists and bands have performed at the festival, including Elton John, Billie Eilish, The Weekend, Janet Jackson and more.

aespa recently completed its first-ever concert, “Synk: Hyper Line,” on Feb. 25 and 26 and will be continuing its Japanese leg of the concert from March 15. The girl group will also release its first full-length album in April, followed by performances at the Governors Ball Music Festival 2023 — another first appearance for a K-pop artist.
