Reuters reported on Jan. 29, 2026, that Hyundai Motor is recalling 568,576 Palisade vehicles over an airbag issue. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said the side curtain airbag designed to protect third-row passengers may not deploy properly during a collision. Hyundai Motor told regulators that it is currently preparing measures to address the problem.

Third-row airbag malfunction prompts recall

According to NHTSA, the recall involves the side curtain airbag for third-row occupants, which may not function as intended in the event of a crash. The agency said the issue could affect passenger protection in certain collisions. Hyundai Motor has not yet announced specific corrective steps.

Additional recall tied to instrument cluster defect

Separately, Hyundai Motor plans to recall an additional 41,651 vehicles due to a defect affecting the instrument cluster display. NHTSA said the issue will be resolved through a software update.

Vehicle owners can check whether their car is included in either recall by entering their vehicle identification number (VIN) on the NHTSA website at nhtsa.gov.
