Crew Carwash, a family-run car wash chain headquartered in Indianapolis, has been named the best workplace in the United States for 2026 by Glassdoor. This prestigious ranking, which reflects the experiences of employees across a variety of industries, recognized Crew Carwash for its strong organizational culture and clear career advancement opportunities.

Glassdoor’s annual list of top 100 workplaces is based on anonymous employee reviews and considers factors such as career growth, company culture, and work-life balance. Crew Carwash secured the top spot with its reputation for fostering teamwork and offering a well-defined career progression path for employees.
In-N-Out Burger followed in second place, and Nvidia rounded out the top three. These companies stood out for their commitment to investing in employee development and maintaining a positive work environment, even amidst economic challenges.
This year’s rankings revealed a shift in industry dominance. While technology companies continued to feature prominently, particularly in the AI sector, industries like consumer services, retail, and healthcare saw stronger representation than in previous years. However, the rise of AI and corporate restructuring had a slightly reduced impact on tech firms’ standings compared to last year.
Notably, despite a strong showing from companies like Google (ranked 11th), Delta Airlines (26th), and Apple (77th), the list did not include any Korean-American-owned businesses. Nevertheless, large global companies like these maintained their positions in the rankings, highlighting their continued focus on employee satisfaction.
Daniel Zhao, Glassdoor’s chief economist, pointed out that the common trait among the top companies was their commitment to sustained investments in their workforce. In particular, even during a year marked by widespread layoffs, these companies ensured their employees were supported and helped them adapt to changes.
In summary, Crew Carwash’s success underscores a growing recognition that strong internal culture and employee growth opportunities—rather than just salary—are key factors driving job satisfaction in 2026.
