Hosted by the Consulate General of Israel in Los Angeles

Top Experts to Share Cutting-Edge Strategies

AI-Based Safety Tools and Community Protection Measures Highlighted

The Consulate General of Israel in Los Angeles, led by Consul General Israel Bachar, will host a public safety symposium in Los Angeles’ Koreatown, bringing together experts and local community leaders to discuss practical, community-driven safety measures.

The event, titled “Innovating Safety, Empowering Communities,” will take place on December 3 at a Koreatown venue. About 100 Korean American community leaders have been invited. The exact location and participation details will be provided privately to invited guests only, the Consulate said.

According to the Consulate General, keynote speakers will include Ziv Wexler, CEO of the security technology company ViaCry, and Dr. Goni Saar, an artificial intelligence researcher. They will present real-world case studies and applications of AI-driven safety technologies, illustrating how communities can use modern tools to strengthen local security without relying solely on government agencies.

The symposium will also cover current developments in Israel’s conflict in Gaza and provide insight into how Israeli citizens abroad have navigated safety challenges amid pro-Palestinian protests and incidents of violence worldwide.

In addition, Sungeun Cho, a singer and missionary active in both Israel and South Korea, will perform at the event. Jo has lived in Israel since 2012 and is known for sharing on-the-ground stories with global audiences.

Consul General Bachar emphasized that the gathering is intended to provide not only information but also actionable guidance.

“This event brings together expertise from Israel and around the world,” he said.
“It reflects Israel’s deep interest in and commitment to supporting public safety within the Korean and Korean American communities.”

The symposium will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
